Information about the research and results

This page gathers information on a survey about environmental licensing and Environmental Impact Assessment in Brazil. The survey was conducted to inquiry practitioners’ perception on the Brazilian EIA system regarding (1) the quality of the process (2) the quality of the studies and (3) effects of proposals to change the system.

A questionnaire was made available between January 20 and February 29, 2016, and several sectors participated, including entrepreneurs, consultants, professionals working in environmental agencies, prosecutors, civil society organizations and research institutions representatives.

The research is being developed by the research group of Prof. Luis Enrique Sánchez, the University of São Paulo, with support from FAPESP (Foundation of São Paulo Research).
